Big Ed founded Valley News in 1980 after years of covering crime as a journalist. He experienced depression from his crime reporting, which affected the quality of his writing. Realizing that taking a break from crime stories improved his work and led to more positive feedback, he decided to leave the publisher he worked for and start Valley News. Today, it remains one of the few printing establishments in the valley. Not only does it bring honest news, but it is a vision of the power of positive press. Their mission is to deliver a positive impact in their local community by delivering honest local news through their feel-good newspaper.
